We closed on the house last Friday June 27th.

After three trips with a 26′ truck we had all our stuff moved to the new house (how on earth did we get it all to TN from TX last year in a single truck!!)

From groundbreaking (April 1st) to complete (June 27th) in 88 days.

The only room approved for a picture is this view of the kitchen.  I’ll post more as my interior decorator (wife) finishes her magic.

Almost finished! We installed nearly 1500sqft of wood floors last weekend. Here are the latest shots.

We close on the new house in a few weeks.  We are starting to pack.  It feels like we *just* did this.  = )

Parker is READY!

This weekend we installed nearly 180sqft of Travertine tile in our home. Travertine is a natural stone so each piece is unique. We look forward to seeing what it looks like once we can thoroughly clean and seal it. We worked about 13hrs Sat and 9hrs on Sunday.

The painting is finished. Here is a picture of our dining room with paint and trim.

We purchased our wood floors this weekend. This is what they should look like (this is not a picture of our room). We will be installing this ourselves starting Sat in a few weeks.

We also purchased our appliances. Just in case your shopping for appliances, we actually got them from Electronic Express. They had a package deal with a rebate that beat everyone’s price.

The drywall and brick are near complete.

Now the trim guys are working their magic. Painting starts the end of this week.

We were surprised by how difficult it has been to pick out our light fixtures!

After hours of staring at ceiling displays, we’ve made our main selections.   We still have 25 more fixtures to select but most are standard and shouldn’t take too long to choose.

Today the drywall went up and the brick was started.

This weekend we played Disc Golf. If you’ve never played Disc Golf you definitely should look up a course near you, buy a few discs, grab a few friends and go play. You can find courses in your area here: http://www.pdga.com/course/

Most courses have 18 holes. The goal is to throw a disc, typically 150-400+ feet, into a basket in 3-4 throws.

For some reason we thought it would be a great idea to take Parker with us. It was a Jeep top-down day and he loves to ride. Somehow we underestimated how chaotic it would be having a RETRIEVER with us when we played a game that involves repeatedly throwing discs (his favorite toy of all!)

By the 18th hole we had him trained to sit and wait for us to throw and get to the discs before he charged after them and tried to bring them back. He did come in handy at least once when he retrieved a disc for my wife from an area of the woods that she deemed “too snaky” to walk into.

He thought the whole thing was a lot of fun.

It’s hard to believe! Someone went into our house last night and cut, ripped, and pulled out all the copper wire that was installed last week.

Apparently this has been happening all over for years as the price of Copper increases.
